Entry
Requirements
CIMA
now operate a flexible entry policy, which means that
as long as you feel that you have a good knowledge and
understanding of mathematics and English, there is no
requirement for formal qualifications to register with
CIMA for Certificate in Business Accounting.
Although it is not essential, many students choose to
begin studying CIMA after completing a degree. You may
not need to sit for all CIMA exams if you have a relevant
academic qualification. Of the existing students, only
half have a business or financial degree; the rest come
from a variety of social sciences, language, science
or engineering courses.
No
management or accountancy experience is required to
begin studying CIMA.
You
do not have to be in employment to study for a CIMA
qualification but it is recommended, as practical work
experience will certainly contributed to your understanding
of the subjects studies, and forms an essential part
of the final qualification. If paid employment is not
available, you may wish to consider part-time voluntary
work with a club or charity so that you are better able
to understand the concepts being taught.
